Another trip through the Palouse today to visit Kay.
The day started with a viewing of our final class videos. Mine was well-received and almost didn’t happen due to technical difficulties. Whew.
The session with Kay was significant. She said I seem calmer, and we talked about all that’s starting to integrate and make a significant difference in my life.
I talked about this graphic I saw that highlights the differences between having an anxiety disorder and having anxiety. I’m moving away from behaviors more oriented toward disordered living and more healthy living with normal up’s and down’s.
We talked about how Jay and I can connect more and process the pain that has affected us for so long: the external pain we inherited as kids and the pain we’ve caused each other. Powerful stuff, powerful energy and changes.
Finally, big surprise… I think I have ADHD.
It explains a lot actually and Kay mentioned that I’m doing a lot of the things you normally would do to manage it. How’s that for a shocker?!
So some of the memory issues, the distractions, the spinning up late at night… all ADHD.
Lots to think about and consider but whew, this distracted brain is tired.
I did think this would be a hilarious comedy bit, about having both PTSD and ADHD and coming up with some merged acronym w/ funny taglines:
PHATDADS: Men terrified and attracted to large objects
DHABPAD: Fight, flight … squirrel!
