On the Road. Again

In other big news, we hit the road for Seattle today for Thanksgiving. It feels like a breath of fresh air to be doing something different at the holidays.

I struggle constantly to honor both myself and my extended family when I would say quite a bit of my true self can’t be fully expressed in my family. It seems compromise is the life I live constantly. What is the balance? I’m always playing with that which is probably one reason I like to read so much and ponder. I have a lot to consider.

We got out on time and are staying with friends in their lovely home. We had a nice dinner tonight within walking distance of their house in Kirkland. They leave tomorrow and we’re staying here while they’re gone. It’s pretty epic really. They’re very gracious.

I’m just glad for all of it though I’m a little tired and not relaxed quite enough to be in full enjoyment mode. I have considerable cooking to do as we’re bringing food to the Bee’s and that always makes me nervous, whether Jay and I can navigate everything.

Oh, and did I mention that they have two kittens? Like a gorgeous home and a view of Lake Washington plus holidays in Seattle w/ the kids wasn’t enough.

Yes. Please.
