Direction

Met with someone today that does spiritual direction in the community. He also is a pastor.

I admire the work he's doing to bring spiritual direction to the forefront of people's spirituality. I don't know that he's a great pastor as he doesn't seem super passionate about it. I guess I'm used to seeing weird shit from youngish pastor-types.

He knows Sister Gee, so we talked quite a bit about her and the monastery. He loves it there whereas for me, it wasn't as mind-blowing. Too much stuff too close to other bad church memories I have.

But people like Sister Gee are life-changers.

I hope this new direction goes well for him. He seems unorganized and needs to be liked.

I also always feel like pastors of this ilk in general are also not particularly mature people. I don't know what combination of factors allows for this, but it sure seems to be true.

So yeah, I guess he reminded me of some of the guys who've most challenged and annoyed me over the last 30 years. I didn't get triggered per se, but I don't see us meeting again.
