17 Week 8

Another week of stressful meetings and changes.  Having people who love us and we love around us always makes a difference.

There are some tried and true reset buttons in life. Solid community is one of them. Fixing problems that are real problems is another. Travel to where it's warmer and where there's community. We did some of all of it this week.

We still managed to have conflict over here, ever while getting a break. It follows us.

I continue to wrestle with what it means to have independent, adult children. I would say the stories of our kids sometimes shocks people, that they both are in their 20's and living and working independently.

It feels good to help them, but it's not the primary need they have from us. I think we just all need to be together and process and live life together. I am realizing it's not healthy to always just feel like I need to help them. That doesn't say good things about me.

When it happens, it feels great, like the dresser and also bringing over the silverware and dish ware I found for El and is an early bday present.  I love it when that happens. It's just not something I want to focus on.

Highlights:

- Impending disaster not as bad as it appears

- Helping out one of the kids with furniture/El's new apartment

- Homemade dinner with Bee's family a success

Next week:

- Stay the course

- Don't forget what's working
