Will my personal growth improve the relationships with people closest to me? Or is this all for myself?
How this gets answered is everything

Sunshine.

A full day of activities, planned the day before. A solid start in the morning with chores, meditation, exercise then an afternoon of work.
What?
Yeah, it's happening.

We had dinner tonight at home, me and Jay. I'm learning. I approached him earlier in the day and suggested we have leftovers. I suggested he stop and get some salad toppings he likes at the natural food deli and we add that to everything.
We went on a walk before dinner, put dinner together and sat at the table in the kitchen and had a long dinner w/ great conversation. It felt very familiar; I was reminded of all the dinners we'd had there with the kids with good food and laughter.
We've had a long hard road the last seven years, and we're both finding new ways to be together. We're also going back to what was good that we lost track of which I'm just now discovering.
We've fought a good amount over food at home. Lots of landmines, lots of triggers. We're learning that what those were about and how to adjust and heal without ceding something as important to domestic life as being able to cook together.
Last Friday night, we had people over for pizza. I got out the well-worn pizza pans and felt a surge of warmth as I remembered the dozens of pizza dinners we'd had w/ friends and kids.
We created good memories and good habits to fall back to. We've done many things well. We need to celebrate and return to those things and keep moving forward with what was diseased that was uncovered.

This.
This sort of sums up what's taken me about four years to figure out: a healthy life, in all aspects, is multifaceted. The behaviors are all relatively unsexy and have to be balanced with each other. The acupuncturist I see calls it the Law of Minimal Improvements which is the exact opposite of the Magic Bullet that Americans are particularly obsessed with ("Where's the pill I take?")
So here's to awareness and balanced, healthy living on sunny Monday.
