Time-off

We headed out to the beach for a work vacation.

A work vacation for us means we have to do some work while we're on vacation but we get to go somewhere different to do it. We downshift about 3/4th at least, depending on the day. The business pays for our lodging and some food. It's a good deal overall as long as a real vacation is in the picture somewhere down the line.

I read a great quote years ago that said, "When you're tired, just take a break. Don't quit." I don't know if Banksy came up with it or not, but his artwork always inspires. In other words, get out of this all/nothing thinking and be willing to do what you can w/ what you have #gratitude #perspective

The working vacation was much-needed. I feel like I moved into a healthier space in my head and the ocean swept away quite a bit of grief, because I cried alot. I cried and felt tears mixing w/ the ancient waters of the world and that doesn't feel corny at all to say.

I also made an attempt at some kind of chant or song, some type of praise and acknowledgment of the beauty and expanse that an ocean and ocean beach is.  Sometimes words really fail me, so chanting, remembering what I could from the indigenous chant music I have helped.

I am sweeping my arm and chanting to the expanse of the sand, the dunes, the seagrass. With this arm, I'm chanting and praising the ocean, the waves, the animals that live here. With both arms, I'm making a sweeping circle and embracing the sky, the earth, the air, myself.

Who are we? Who am I? I am part of all this and this is my tribe. Sometimes I don't know where I belong or who I really am.

It seems good to start here.
