So that might go down as one of the biggest days of my life.
Definitely for Jay.
I waited until we got home from dinner around 9 pm. I walked into the den and asked him, “I have something to tell you that will change your life. Where do you want me to tell you?”
We went into the living room, and I told him the whole story. I forwarded him the emails. We sat in the living room and processed it as best as we could together.
It was stunning.
Tonight we called the girls. We had said something cryptic during the day like we have really big news, when do you want to hear it? They were like, ‘Yeah no, that doesn’t work.’ So we told them as well. El signed off by saying she was just going to sit down on the floor and stare at the wall a while. KT said she hoped we remembered the main family we were supposed to be getting to know (her soon-to-be in-laws).
So far, finding out your Dad is decent, a rocket scientist and lives 300 miles from you isn’t too bad.
