Birthday

I started celebrating my birthday how I wanted several years ago. Neither of us seems to have a good grasp anymore of what to do on each other's birthdays. That seems to not be a good sign, but that's another topic.

I’m glad I’m learning to be more in the present because usually, it meant I was just checking on everything around me and missing what the main event was, whatever it was.  For my birthday again, I invited people to come down to a small concert venue with a lobby. I made cookies and bought drinks for anyone that came. I then stayed for the jazz concert and invited everyone to come that wanted to. Another discovery in all this is that I haven’t listened to words in music much at all… it was too dangerous on many levels.

I like finding ways to include friends in events, not just have everything be about your own goals and dreams. What's life without friends?
