Hungry Early Hours

I haven't woken up from stress in a long time. So, this.

HUNGRY

You cannot eat

stress.

You cannot pace at night

and snack

on angry memories

of decisions gone wrong,

however crunchy.

You cannot sit in traffic

and chew on

scenes of your mother

demented and sobbing,

however salty.

You cannot stand at work

and silently sip the

broth of distance,

neglect and hatred,

however spicy.

You cannot lay on the couch

and nibble bars

of fake news, talking heads,

and Likes,

however sugary.

You cannot eat stress.

It won't feed you.

It won't nourish you.

It won't heal you.

It can entertain you.

It can distract you.

It can harm you.

It can destroy you.

Determine to be in charge

of your diet.

Determine what you eat.

Determine what you allow in.

Determine who's in charge.

Determine what your food pyramid looks like.

Be the one

who makes the

change in your food.

Who else will do it?

It might even change the world

as it changes you.
