Symphony tonight w/ family.
Redemption comes back to you. Have I ever been sad I forgave someone? Nope.
We have struggled at times w/ family over politics and religion, across the board. We’ve stayed connected to these families, but we’ve often felt the odd one out.
Things have changed though with a few of them. I sensed Jay’s sister really shifted several years ago when she realized we were more liberal than she was. She backed off on sending us things via email that were offensive. She calmed down her rhetoric at family events. She ramped up seeing our girls and was super involved with the wedding.
As a result, we can do more with them socially, like the Symphony this evening.
Redemption sometimes comes back and blesses you. In fact, it usually works that way. I don’t know that I figured it would come back to be a blessing to me down the road. It is and it has. It’s worth it to have put people first though I am ready for less of the tough family dynamics and more ease with people. That seems to be happening some now.
