Lazy Days

I slept in again and spent the morning writing, reading and walking. We had a late breakfast together and good coffee.

In the afternoon, we went to the deYoung Museum. I found it compelling as they didn’t allow any photos or smart phone picture-taking. I was pretty shocked at the difference it made in my experience. I won’t forget that.

We had dinner at a great Himalayan restaurant called Gorkha with P’s roommate who is from Nepal. She’s from the Sherpa line actually. It was interesting to hear some of her stories and eat their amazing food. We watched some British TV and went to bed fairly early, for us.

I feel like being here is exploring the world, both the world of a different city with many cultures and the world of our family. I’m traveling in all kinds of ways, and it’s good. I leave tomorrow and while that’s fine, I wish I could be here more than I am. I often feel I’m in between cities and families.
