Flew the Coop

We made it to the SW to visit friends and talk business.

These folks have a beautiful home that we’re staying in. They are happy to have us and we’re happy to be here.

I’m really tired. My ass sort of hurts this eve. I just need to get to sleep. Lots of sitting today.

People sure do make a lot of money these days and have a lot of ways to spend it.

They are at the edge of an amazing series of canyons and land formations right in Sedona. It’s truly breathtaking. I’m glad to get to see it.

It’s easy to stay home. It’s easier to not plan and make things happen. Yes, it really is.

Now that I think my health is improved enough to plan some things, I need to start planning my own life and pursuing my own interests.

I’m realizing how much I mentally defer to all of these people. I check through all of them on my list first before I ask myself what I’d like or need. That needs to change.

Something shifted for me this week in that area. I feel more ready to get going and be excited for what’s next for me.

My world has been pretty small, mostly focused on raising the kids and then our business has dominated the last several years.

I’d love to get back into art and writing. I have some leadership duties now that can scratch that itch okay. Yeah, I think that’s what I need to do for now.

The arts.

It’s time.

Maybe the photojournalism as well.

The brainy stuff can follow along with it all, but I don’t want to get into all that for a while.

Our hostess said tonight that she watched a show on CNN that did snapshot of all the presidential races for like the last 150 years. It said it’s always been like this; people want power and there’s been a lot of corruption.

I guess it means for me that there’s always need, and I need to focus on myself for a while instead of just what is needed.

I heard someone say in an interview today that if you find your passion, then it’s just a matter of the process you put in place to make that passion become a reality. The passion, what is it, do I love this, want to commit to it, he almost made that sound more like the challenge.

On we go.
