What Time?

What do I spend my time doing?

It seems I have less time for creating than I should.

It turns out, living more sustainably, more kind to the earth, takes time.

It takes time to recycle. It takes time to choose to set things aside to put in the recycling bin or other modes of recycling. We recycle alot.

It takes time to set aside food scraps to compost or put in a food recycling bin.

It takes time to do public transport, walking or biking or other modes of non-automobile travel. It does.

It takes time to make and grow more of my own food. It takes time to eat healthier, healthier for me and for the planet.

It takes time to make gifts. Make or grow them, just anything other than a straight-up purchase.

It takes time to be with people instead of just watching them on TV.

On the plus side, I don't shop like I used to. Some of that is due to needing less because we have the basics stocked. Some of it is I just shop differently when I do and have different expectations for what I buy. I assume I'll have something a long time. I assume I'll thrift things that don't work. So I've made up quite a bit of time here.

And on an unrelated topic, I wish in the New Year that people didn't have to watch me eat. I saw myself chewing in a reflection in a window today. I didn't realize my cheeks look like the backs of my thighs when I'm chewing. How can your cheeks look that unattractive in just a different state?

Flat face, chewing face.

Flat. Chewing.

I think this is the first and probably last time I've mentioned weight or fat or chewing. I won't do it again lightly.
